4 Training Pillars
An integrated pipeline of training activities divided in 4 pillars.
The BRIGHT-Canada program offers a unique, integrated, and interdisciplinary training pipeline designed to prepare the next generation of highly qualified personnel (HQP) in radiobiology.
We provide a comprehensive training environment for approximately 132 trainees (Undergraduate, MSc, PhD, and Post-doctoral Fellows). Our approach ensures a smooth transition from academia to key sectors like industry and government.

The 4 pillars of training
The program is structured around four main pillars of activity designed to maximize skillsets and career readiness.

Pillar I: Leading-edge Knowledge-based Courses
Core theoretical knowledge in radiobiology. Deliver two specialized graduate courses covering molecular and cellular radiobiology, available in-person or via videoconference.
Pillar II: CNL Internships
Practical skills application in an industry/government setting. Mandatory 4-6 month complementary hands-on internships at Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL).
Pillar III: Annual Retreat
Networking, professional skills, and collaboration. Trainees showcase research via oral/poster presentations and network with domestic and international academic and industrial experts.
Pillar IV: Seminars
Exposure to state-of-the-art research. A seminar series offered each semester featuring national and international speakers from private, government, and academia.
